Vietnamese grandmaster Tuan Minh Le mounted a dramatic rally to claim victory in the July 25 Bullet Brawl on Chess.com. He erased a 20-point deficit in the final 16 minutes and defeated GM Hikaru Nakamura on tiebreaks.
Le scored 27 points in the closing stretch to finish with 159, while Nakamura added just seven points during the same period. The pair ended level on points after Le produced a seven-game winning streak, forcing a tiebreak decided by longest streak.
Nakamura had led for most of the two-hour arena with a score of 91 points after the first hour. He had earlier strung together an eight-game win streak before faltering in his final nine games.
Le earned the $400 first prize, his first top placing since 2024. Nakamura received $250 for second place. GMs Oleksandr Bortnyk and Arjun Erigaisi took third and fourth on tiebreaks, while FM Anastasia Avramidou claimed the $100 best women's prize.
