The Greater Bengaluru Authority has begun its Safe Footpath Campaign to tackle obstacles on pavements across the city. Pedestrians continue to face hazards from debris, parked vehicles and uneven surfaces. Data shows Bengaluru recorded 246 pedestrian deaths in 2024.
