In the fifth episode of the ProSieben show 'The Masked Singer', actor Clemens Schick was unmasked as the otter character. The 53-year-old received too few audience votes and will miss the finale on December 13. Four candidates remain.
Clemens Schick, known from films like 'Die Ermittlung' and 'Rave On', appeared in the music show 'The Masked Singer' as the magician otter named Harry Otter. In the episode themed 'Sports Night', the masked stars performed sports anthems, from the Superbowl to the Olympics. Schick sang and danced to 'Sweet Caroline' by Neil Diamond and 'Major Tom' by Peter Schilling.
The actor received too few votes from the audience in the fifth episode and had to unmask. The viewer poll first guessed moderator Klaas Heufer-Umlauf as the sorcerer's apprentice, with Schick in second place. After unmasking, he joked: 'I stood on such a stage for the first time and even sang. You heard how off-key that was.' He added: 'At some point I realized that playing this animal just makes me have fun, and through that I got access here.'
The regular panelists Verona Pooth and Chris Tall correctly guessed Schick. Guest panelist Alvaro Soler suspected Daniel Brühl instead. Before the finale on December 13 at 8:15 p.m. on ProSieben and Joyn, four masks remain in the competition: the noodle 'Rave-ioli', the egg 'Eggi', the cow 'Muuhnika', and the monkey 'King'.
In the show, celebrities perform as singers in elaborate costumes that hide their identities. Only their voice and mysterious clues hint at who is on stage. The one with the fewest viewer votes gets unmasked—or wins the finale.
