Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi reaffirmed Cairo's rejection of any threat to Gulf security during a visit to Bahrain on Tuesday amid US military actions against Iran.
Al-Sisi made the remarks after stops in Qatar and Bahrain. He described the security of GCC states as integral to Egypt's national security and condemned attacks on Bahraini territory as violations of international law.
US Central Command completed five-hour strikes using precision-guided munitions on Iranian sites including Bushehr, Chabahar and Bandar Abbas. President Donald Trump notified Congress of defensive strikes carried out on July 7 and threatened further action including against the Pickaxe Mountain site.
The US-led Joint Maritime Information Center announced a naval blockade on all Iranian ports. Saudi Arabia condemned Iranian attacks on commercial vessels while Iran reported three deaths in Hajiabad and Revolutionary Guards strikes on a US facility in Jordan.
