Al-Sisi reviews plans to expand international education partnerships

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi reviewed plans to expand Egypt's international partnerships in technical and pre-university education during a meeting in El Alamein.

The meeting took place with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif. Egypt's technical education sector currently serves around 2.35 million students across 3,213 specialised schools.

The number of applied technology schools is expected to reach about 225 at the start of the next academic year. Egypt has signed agreements with Italy to establish 100 applied technology schools, while cooperation with Germany will expand through 38 Egyptian-German technical schools.

Other partnerships include a review of the proposed Egyptian Baccalaureate framework with the International Baccalaureate Organization, as well as cooperation with Japan's Hiroshima University and planned teacher training with Harvard University.
