Alabama father charged with manslaughter in hot car death

An Alabama man is charged with manslaughter after authorities say he left his 1-year-old son to die in a hot car at their home while temperatures reached the mid-90s.

Logan Keith Chewning, 30, was arrested and booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond following the incident in Brookwood. Family members discovered the boy dead in his car seat at the home in the 11000 block of Stone Ridge Court on Wednesday afternoon, according to Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Capt. Jack Kennedy.
