Alabama Shakes share new single ahead of album release

Alabama Shakes have released the single “I Feel Hope Coming” as the latest preview of their first album in 11 years. The track appears on I Must Be Dreaming, scheduled for release on Aug. 28 via Island Records.

The reunited band, consisting of Brittany Howard, Heath Fogg and Zac Cockrell, described the song as an optimistic call to protest. Howard stated that the track reflects hope in a younger generation that sees through political lies.

Fogg noted the song emerged from a joyful collaboration that captures the spirit of the band’s rebirth. The single follows earlier releases “Another Life” and “American Dream.”

The album marks Alabama Shakes’ return after a long hiatus that began following their 2015 record Sound & Color. A full track list has also been announced, including 11 songs.

The band staged a surprise reunion show in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in December 2024, which led to a 2025 tour.
