Alec Baldwin jumped into the fray to back Lupita Nyong’o after Elon Musk and Matt Walsh questioned her casting as Helen of Troy in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. The Oscar winner posted a direct Instagram message to Musk on May 17 2026.
The online spat began when Matt Walsh posted that no one believes Nyong’o is the most beautiful woman in the world and called Nolan a coward for the choice. Musk replied “True” and later added that Nolan “wants the awards” and had “lost his integrity.” Baldwin, 68, responded by sharing a photo of Nyong’o with the caption “Dear Elon… but she IS the most beautiful woman in the world.”
