Alonso has no idea what he will do after F1

Fernando Alonso says he has no plans for life after Formula 1. The two-time world champion made the comments during a media session at Silverstone.

The 44-year-old stated he will decide on his future around the summer break. He dismissed any link between that choice and Aston Martin’s upgrade package due at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

When asked what he would do if he left the series, Alonso replied: “No, no idea.” He added that any return to motorsport would most likely involve a non-driving role with Aston Martin.

Alonso also mentioned a desire to win the Dakar Rally and possibly compete in endurance racing again. He said he would delay walking the Camino de Santiago until his three-month-old son is older.

Aston Martin team principal Adrian Newey has expressed hope that the upgrades will keep Alonso in the cockpit for 2027 alongside Lance Stroll.
