Atlético Madrid have ended speculation over Julián Álvarez by declaring the Argentina striker is not for sale this summer. The club rejected interest from Barcelona despite an offer from the Catalan side. CEO Miguel Ángel Gil Marín confirmed the stance in a video statement.
Miguel Ángel Gil Marín said Atlético is the right place for the player and rejected any possibility of a transfer.
“We will not accept an offer of 100, 150, or 200m euros,” he stated.
Álvarez joined Atlético from Manchester City for around £82 million in August 2024. He has scored 49 goals across two seasons and holds a contract until 2030.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta had confirmed an offer was made. The player had previously expressed a desire for a move during the ongoing World Cup.
