Aubry Bracco returns for Survivor 50 with fresh perspective

Aubry Bracco, a three-time Survivor contestant, is back for season 50 after taking a break to regroup. In a pre-game interview in Fiji, she discussed her past experiences, strategies for the new season, and excitement about competing against legends and newcomers. Bracco emphasized her improved social game and determination to avoid past mistakes.

Aubry Bracco, who previously competed on Survivor: Kaôh Rōng, Survivor: Game Changers, and Survivor: Edge of Extinction, is returning for her fourth appearance on Survivor 50. In Kaôh Rōng, she finished as runner-up to Michele Fitzgerald amid a contentious jury vote. She advanced deep in Game Changers but was eliminated early in Edge of Extinction, her third season in four years, leaving her exhausted and initially done with the show.

"I have stepped away from 'Survivor' and integrated the lessons that I've learned from this game I love into my real life, and I have become more grounded," Bracco told TVLine in an interview conducted in Fiji before filming began. "I've returned to myself. I've had a chance to breathe and I think I'm gonna come back with better perspective and better intuition than I have before."

Bracco expressed excitement about seeing returning players like Cirie Fields, whom she called her potential "Achilles' heel," and Coach Wade from her favorite season, South Pacific. From newer contestants, she highlighted Emily Flippen and Dee Valladares for their vibrant personalities. She suggested Q as a possible first boot due to past tensions and gave a shoutout to Reem Daly for her resilience.

Reflecting on her game, Bracco vowed never to use the phrase "start a dialogue" again, a reference to past critiques. She plans to revive her one-on-one relationship-building from Kaôh Rōng, adapting to the faster-paced "new era" by staying receptive and flexible. "You're probably gonna see more of 'Kaôh Rōng' Aubry here on 'Survivor 50,'" she said.

Bracco believes pre-existing relationships could be assets or liabilities in this all-stars season. She noted that new era players hold an advantage in speed but lack the experience of blindsides that veterans possess. Regarding a potential return of Edge of Extinction, she remarked, "I've been living out there for over 1,000 days waiting to come back, so what's another 1,000 more?"

She also praised Survivor 49 contestants for entering season 50 with a fresh start, unburdened by prior reputations. Bracco anticipates a legendary winner who earns the victory through perseverance.
