Authorities detain El Junior, second in command of Los Viagras in Zihuatanejo

Officials from the Fiscalía General del Estado de Guerrero and federal authorities arrested Juan N, alias El Junior, identified as second in command of the criminal group Los Viagras, on charges of aggravated extortion.

The arrest took place in Zihuatanejo. Forces from the Sedena, the National Guard, the Semar, the SSPC and the state police of Guerrero took part in the operation.

The FGE stated that investigations show El Junior and his alleged accomplice Christopher N had demanded payments from a victim under threats since February 2026. The suspects collected the money in person.

The detainees were placed before a control judge. The state attorney general’s office reaffirmed its commitment to investigate and prosecute the crime of extortion in coordination with federal authorities.
