Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo outlined three main keys—optimism, maximum efforts from all parties, and synergy—to boost economic growth higher in 2026. At the opening of the Bank Indonesia Together with the Community (BIRAMA) 2025 event in Jakarta on December 2, 2025, he highlighted Indonesia's resilient economic fundamentals amid global challenges. Warjiyo affirmed BI's commitment to crafting policies that balance growth and stability.
Indonesia possesses strong fundamental capital to drive higher and more resilient economic growth, according to Perry Warjiyo. Currently, the Indonesian economy demonstrates resilience with sustained good growth and maintained macroeconomic and financial system stability. Bank Indonesia will go all out to formulate and implement policies that promote growth while safeguarding stability, in synergy with the government's fiscal policies within the national economic transformation mix.
Perry detailed BI's policy directions for 2026. First, monetary policy will aim to control inflation and stabilize the rupiah exchange rate. Second, macroprudential policy will strengthen banking intermediation to support government priority sectors. Third, payment system policy will enhance digital transactions, including QRIS and BI-FAST.
Additionally, policies to deepen the money and foreign exchange markets will focus on strengthening products, pricing, participants, and financial market infrastructure. BI will also continue to bolster MSMEs, the green economy, and Islamic economy to support the people's economy.
"We must be optimistic that Indonesia's economy will improve and be able to face challenges," Perry said at the BIRAMA 2025 opening. "Through strengthening this policy mix, Bank Indonesia is fully committed to supporting Asta Cita and ensuring inclusive and resilient national economic stability and growth," he added.
BIRAMA 2025 is part of the Bank Indonesia Annual Meeting (PTBI) 2025, aimed at deepening public understanding of BI policies and providing guidance for society in economic decision-making.
