Eight days after the 1-7 debacle at FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich's women's team rehabilitated themselves in the Champions League. They defeated Italian champions Juventus Turin 2-1 (1-1), with the winning goal coming in the 90.+6 minute.
Pernille Harder scored Munich's opener in the 11th minute. The hosts displayed determination from the start and built up superiority. Turin equalized in the 20th minute via a directly converted free kick by Eva Schatzer. At halftime, it was 1-1, flattering for Juventus, as Bayern hit the woodwork twice—through Momoko Tanikawa and Georgia Stanway—and had further chances.
Coach José Barcala fielded the same ten outfield players as in the 3-1 win against VfL Wolfsburg, with only Maria Luisa Grohs in goal replacing the injured Ena Mahmutovic. After the break, the Munich women pressed for the second goal but missed opportunities. Substitute Paulina Krumbiegel increased the pressure on Turin. In the 65th minute, long-injured Lena Oberdorf made her Champions League comeback as a substitute. In the closing stages, Bayern intensified their efforts, and Lea Schüller scored the 2-1 winner.
