BBC adds Agassi, Navratilova and McEnroe to Wimbledon team

The BBC has announced a revamped commentary lineup for the 2026 Wimbledon Championships, which begin in 10 days. Three former champions join the broadcast while longtime commentator Andrew Castle steps away after more than two decades.

The new panel features Andre Agassi, Martina Navratilova and John McEnroe alongside returning voices Clare Balding CBE and Isa Guha MBE. Additional analysts include Pat Cash, Tim Henman OBE, Annabel Croft, Kyle Edmund, Jamie Murray, Eugenie Bouchard and Laura Robson.

Agassi returns after a popular debut in 2025. Navratilova and McEnroe will appear daily in the studio, while Agassi joins during finals week. The coverage will incorporate the SIGNALS AI system to deliver live statistics.

Castle confirmed his departure in remarks to The Times. “It’s been a hell of a journey,” he said. “I can’t say I have enjoyed every minute because there have been moments of pressure and controversy, but it has been a huge privilege.”

The announcement was made by the BBC Press Office on June 19.
