Borno school releases list of 36 still missing students

Government Day Secondary School in Lassa has published the names of 36 students still held after an attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on Monday. The list covers 25 females and 11 males from SS1 to SS3 classes.

The school in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State issued the identities on Wednesday following the abduction during ongoing NECO examinations.

Initial figures showed 41 students and two teachers taken. Security forces later rescued five female students and the two teachers.

Councillor Jagila Jabula stated the list was prepared jointly by school authorities and parents of the missing students. One rescued teacher noted that many students remain in captivity.

The 36 names include Wamdai Adani, Partsi Simon, Fati Shehu and others across SS1, SS2 and SS3 levels.
