CJNG threatens Unión Tepito and Cártel de Tláhuac in video

Presumed members of the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación released a video on social media declaring war on the groups Unión Tepito and Cártel de Tláhuac in Mexico City.

In the video, several hooded individuals armed with guns and wearing vests marked with the CJNG initials read a manifesto. One states: “We are going after all the extortionists and rent collectors from Unión Tepito and Cártel de Tláhuac. Their gold mine is over for them.”

The message says the aim is to stop those extorting in the name of the CJNG. “We come to bring order, not to inconvenience. We are the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación,” the speaker concludes.

The CJNG was designated a terrorist organization by the United States in 2025. In February, the Mexican Army killed its leader Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as ‘El Mencho’, in Jalisco, triggering clashes that left 25 soldiers and 33 criminals dead.

Mexican authorities have not commented on the video. The CJNG has used similar videos to threaten rivals and journalists in the past, such as the case of Azucena Uresti in 2021.
