Colman Domingo greeted arrivals with embraces and twirls on the dance floor at the Faena Hotel in West Chelsea. The invitation urged guests to “Put That Sh*t On!”, prompting bold outfits like Domingo’s feathered jacket and halter blouson handmade by Mexico City designer Patricio Campillo. “The look took us 20 days, working six days a week, to individually sew the rooster feathers,” Campillo said. “We needed it to be perfect.”Upon entry, guests' cell phones received gold stickers branded “Xo Colman”, encouraging uninhibited dancing without social media distractions. Attendees included Natasha Lyonne, Evan Mosseri, Eva Chen, designers Alessandro Michele, Haider Ackermann, Marc Jacobs with husband Char Defrancesco, and Emma Thynn Weymouth in a white gown with a 10-foot train. Celebrities such as Meghann Fahy, Leo Woodall, Nina Dobrev, Gabrielle Union, Heidi Klum, and Coco Rocha joined the festivities. The evening’s signature drink, the Catwalk from Don Julio Tequila sponsor, inspired revelers to treat the dance floor as a runway. DJs Spinderella and Lina spun tracks before singer Jacob Lusk performed a cover of Bennie & The Jets. During a toast, Domingo told the crowd, “We’re here tonight to celebrate the arts, in all its forms, and all of you here that can change the world through your art.” He added, “Tonight I want you all to meet a new person, because through this community and connection with one and other, you have the power to change the world.”Steven Spielberg was reportedly spotted at the event. Domingo is set to star in an upcoming science fiction thriller directed by Spielberg.
