Eric Barone posted a new blog update confirming ongoing work on Haunted Chocolatier without major new details to share. The Stardew Valley creator explained his focus on perfecting every element of the game.
Barone described the challenges of creating a recipe book interface for chocolate making in the game. He has revised the feature multiple times to ensure it requires minimal clicks while presenting the right amount of information in an appealing layout.
The developer noted that Haunted Chocolatier is a large project requiring similar attention to many other systems. He said he aims to go beyond basic comfort for players and instead create delightful experiences.
Barone also stated he prefers not to share early screenshots or details. He compared premature reveals to serving half-baked bread and wants to present a finished product.
The project began six years ago as a primarily solo effort alongside maintenance work on Stardew Valley.
