Hundreds of Tesla Cybercab vehicles have been observed at Gigafactory Texas with new side decals, signaling potential entry into the company's ride-hailing fleet soon. The sightings follow the vehicle's recent receipt of an EPA Certificate of Conformity. Observers note the addition mirrors prior Model Y markings used during a similar launch about a year ago.
Drone footage captured on June 19 showed the Cybercabs bearing the new "Cybercab" logos outside the Texas factory. The decals appeared days after the EPA granted the Certificate of Conformity, which permits the vehicle to operate on public roads.
Tesla performed a comparable step with Model Y units ahead of the Robotaxi platform rollout last year. The move is viewed as largely symbolic preparation for fleet integration in the coming weeks or months.
The Cybercab remains approved for Level 4 operation in Texas under a law effective May 28. Questions persist about deployment without a steering wheel, pedals, or safety monitor, given its two-seat capacity. Estimates point to possible road use in July or August, pending further safety validations.
