Earl Sweatshirt, MIKE, and Surf Gang announce double album Pompeii // Utility

Earl Sweatshirt, MIKE, and the New York collective Surf Gang have revealed details of their collaborative double album, Pompeii // Utility, set for release on April 3 via 10k, Tan Cressida, and Surf Gang Records. The project features 33 tracks and is accompanied by a music video for the single “Minty // Earth.” They will support the album with the Home on the Range tour, beginning in Mexico City on April 24.

The announcement marks the culmination of a longtime friendship and collaborative history among Earl Sweatshirt, MIKE, and Surf Gang co-founders Harrison, evilgiane, and Eera. According to a press release, the album has been many years in the making, building on nearly a decade of working relationships and shared tour experiences.

Pompeii // Utility spans two discs: Pompeii with 15 tracks including “The Fall,” “MY WORST (rebuke),” “Da Bid (feat. Jadasea),” and “Minty”; and Utility with 18 tracks such as “this2shallpass,” “Home on the Range,” “Leadbelly (feat. MIKE),” and “Earth.” The single “Minty // Earth” showcases MIKE's ominous verse over a minimalistic beat, transitioning to Earl Sweatshirt's densely packed rhymes on a smoother production. The music video depicts the artists in a remote location, delivering their performances while spending time together.

This follows acclaimed solo releases in 2025: MIKE's Showbiz! and Earl Sweatshirt's Live Laugh Love. Surf Gang's prior project with British rapper Jawnino arrived in December.

The Home on the Range tour kicks off April 24 in Mexico City at Foro Indie Rocks, followed by North American dates starting June 9 in Riverside, California, at Riverside Municipal Auditorium. Stops include Los Angeles, New York, and Myrtle Beach, before heading to Europe for shows in Katowice, Glasgow, Dublin, Paris, and more through September 8 in Tilburg, Netherlands. Some dates feature Harrison from Surf Gang, while others are Earl Sweatshirt solo or MIKE with the Band of the Century. Artist pre-sale tickets begin March 11 using the password UTILITY, with general on-sale March 13 via Ticketmaster.
