The Buen Fin operation in Ecatepec aims to ensure safety during shopping from November 11 to 17. It involves 1,000 personnel from municipal and state police, the Secretariat of the Navy, and the National Guard, with permanent presence in shopping malls and high-traffic areas like banks and ATMs to deter high-impact crimes.
Mayor Azucena Cisneros Coss, joined by representatives from Coparmex, the Business Security Council of the State of Mexico, and a retail chain, explained that the security setup covers key centers such as Patio Ecatepec, Plaza Ecatepec, Plaza Cerro Gordo, Pabellón Ecatepec, Gran Patio Ecatepec, Centro Las Américas, Paseo Ventura, Súper Plaza Ecatepec, Plaza Aragón, and Center Plaza.
"We have various justice and police agencies to provide security to people. We join efforts with business representatives for the Buen Fin operation in shopping malls, so people can shop in peace and tranquility," stated Cisneros Coss.
Teodoro Barba from Coparmex Eastern Zone praised the plan: "We join to protect businesses, entrepreneurs, and industries with the support of the municipal government, which is always open to dialogue; we entrepreneurs are allies and we have seen prompt response in security protocols from the municipal police with the Navy".
Mario Alberto Trocoli, president of the Business Security Council, acknowledged the coordination: "It is excellent work undertaken in security with the Ecatepec government and we invite citizens to generate new practices together with the three levels of government".
The plan includes a red code for emergencies, enhancing response capacity to distress calls through close coordination among agencies.
