Egypt's ready-made garments exports hit $2.8 billion in 2025

Egypt's ready-made garments sector has recorded strong export growth, reaching $2.8 billion in the first 10 months of 2025, a 22% rise from the previous year. The Apparel Export Council of Egypt's report highlighted key markets like the United States and the European Union. Fadel Marzouk, the council's chairperson, expressed optimism about hitting $4 billion by 2026.

The Apparel Export Council of Egypt's monthly report revealed that ready-made garments exports totaled $2.8 billion in the first 10 months of 2025, up 22% from $2.3 billion in the same period of 2024. The United States led as the primary destination, followed by the European Union, Türkiye, and several Arab countries.

Fadel Marzouk, chairperson of the council, stated: "Egyptian companies continue to lead the region in garment exports, with our factories accounting for 63% of the country's total garment exports," crediting support from the Ministries of Industry, Finance, and Investment. The success stems from investments in modernizing production lines, expanding capacity, and sustainability efforts over the past two years.

Exports maintained steady growth throughout 2025, with the biggest surge in February exceeding 30%, and October reaching $282 million, a 10% increase from $257 million in 2024. Key market breakdowns show U.S. exports up 10% to $1.08 billion, Türkiye's up 71% to $321 million, and Saudi Arabia's more than doubling to $304 million. Europe recorded $717 million, a 34% rise.

Marzouk anticipates $4 billion in exports by 2026 through production expansion and stronger ties with Arab and European markets, as well as Türkiye and the U.S., bolstered by government backing and robust demand.
