Egypt's foreign minister and petroleum minister briefed foreign diplomats on Sunday about investment opportunities in the energy and mining sectors.
Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi held the briefing at the Foreign Ministry headquarters. Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's strategic location and infrastructure as factors making it a regional energy hub. He also stressed the need for international cooperation amid global energy challenges.
Badawi outlined steps taken to improve the investment climate. These include incentives for exploration, updated petroleum agreements, and settling dues to foreign partners. He pointed to opportunities via the Egypt Upstream Gateway and seismic surveys in areas such as the Red Sea and Gulf of Suez.
The meeting ended with discussions on expanding cooperation and connecting Egyptian companies with international partners. The government continues to implement reforms to attract foreign investment in energy and mining.
