Federico Molinari convicted of grooming a 15-year-old student

Former Argentine Olympic gymnast Federico Molinari received a suspended sentence of one year and eight months in prison for grooming a teenager who trained at his gym.

Judge Mariela Quintana of the Juzgado Correccional N° 3 in San Isidro handed down the ruling on July 17, 2026. The incidents took place in 2020 in Don Torcuato, where Molinari sent suggestive messages to the victim via Instagram.

Evidence included screenshots of conversations in which he asked her to activate ephemeral mode and phrases such as “Cómo agitaste al público, te llevaste todas las miradas, incluso la mía”. The complaint was filed in 2023 by the teenager’s mother.

In addition to the suspended sentence, the court banned him from approaching the victim, ordered psychological treatment and imposed two years of supervision by the Patronato de Liberados. The investigation was led by prosecutor Gonzalo Acosta.
