Filip Larsson signs two-year deal with Örebro Hockey

Örebro Hockey has signed goaltender Filip Larsson, 27, from Leksand on a two-year contract through at least 2028. The move strengthens the team's goaltending after Larsson's previous deal was voided by Leksand's SHL relegation. Larsson will form a tandem with Jonas Arntzen, replacing Jhonas Enroth.

Örebro Hockey announced the signing of Filip Larsson on Friday, confirming rumors about bolstering their goaltending roster. The 27-year-old returned to Sweden from North America during the season and signed a multi-year contract with Leksand. However, Leksand's drop from the SHL led to the contract's dissolution, paving the way for Larsson's move to Örebro. Larsson has prior experience in Allsvenskan with Almtuna, HV71, and Kristianstad. Henrik Löwdahl, Örebro's sport chief, praised the acquisition to the club's website. “In Filip, we get a goaltender at a very high level. He is at an age where he is ready to take the next step, and we are convinced that he will fit very well into our environment and our way of working. It will be exciting to follow his continued development with us,” Löwdahl said. Larsson expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity. “First of all, it feels fun and inspiring to get this chance. I have had good talks with Kristoffer (Eriksson), who is the goaltender coach, as well as the rest of the management. I have gotten a good picture of the club, and Örebro feels like a good place for me where I am in my career,” he commented. The signing positions Larsson to compete for starts alongside Arntzen in the SHL next season.
