A fire broke out at a godown located on the Tech Mahindra premises in Sholinganallur on Friday afternoon.
Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services officials said electronic and electrical items stored in the godown were gutted. Firefighters from the Thoraipakkam fire station rushed to the spot and began efforts to douse the fire. They said operations were on to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures.
The staff of the firm working in the nearby buildings were quickly evacuated. No casualties or injuries were reported. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, said officials.
