Florida mother arrested after DUI crash with children inside

A 33-year-old woman was arrested in Miami after police say she crashed her car while driving drunk with her two young children in the vehicle. The car caught fire following the Mother's Day incident.

Iris Damaris Ruiz faces charges of DUI, two counts of DUI with property damage or injuries, and two counts of child abuse. According to the arrest affidavit, a 12-year-old boy flagged down a Florida Highway Patrol trooper at the scene while carrying his 2-year-old sister. The trooper found a smoking gray Nissan with heavy front-end damage and extinguished a fire in the engine after Ruiz exited the vehicle reluctantly.
