Jordan Henderson has undergone surgery on a broken arm sustained during England's World Cup celebrations. The midfielder suffered the injury while attempting to join supporters after a last-16 win over Mexico.
The 36-year-old Brentford player fell awkwardly at the Estadio Azteca on Sunday night. He received oxygen treatment on the pitch before being taken away on a stretcher.
Henderson had the operation at the Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute. He confirmed on Instagram that the procedure was successful and stated his intention to prepare for England's next match.
England manager Thomas Tuchel is expected to review how players celebrate victories. The team is scheduled to face Norway in the quarter-finals in Miami on Saturday.
