Hornets trade Miles Bridges to Suns in blockbuster deal

The Charlotte Hornets traded forward Miles Bridges to the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. In return, Charlotte acquired Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale and an unprotected 2033 first-round pick.

The deal came days after the Hornets sent LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Charlotte also received a 2027 second-round pick from Phoenix while sending a 2029 first-round pick that is the least favorable among the Jazz, Timberwolves and Cavaliers.

The Suns received the largest salary relief in the transaction, trimming roughly $6.2 million from their payroll. They remain about $10.3 million above the luxury-tax line.

Charlotte gained significant future assets, including two high-value unprotected first-round picks from the 2030s. The team also holds additional protected selections from the Mavericks and Heat.

The Hornets now control several draft assets while adding Allen and O'Neale to their roster. Phoenix added Bridges to a group that includes Devin Booker but surrendered future flexibility.
