The HBO series returned Sunday with a Season 3 premiere that included an uncomfortable kiss between Aemond Targaryen and his mother Alicent as well as the death of Prince Jacaerys Velaryon.
During the episode Aemond kissed Alicent after she urged him to leave King's Landing. Olivia Cooke, who plays Alicent, said she was not expecting the moment. "F**k no!" she told TVLine.
Ewan Mitchell, who plays Aemond, said he was surprised by his character's action. "I'm surprised Alicent didn't throw up in her mouth when it happened," he said.
The episode also showed the death of Jacaerys during the Battle of the Gullet. Harry Collett, who plays Jacaerys, said the character had been waiting for the moment. "I think he's been waiting, like, two seasons for this whole moment," Collett said.
