HV71 confirms two players will leave club

HV71 announced on Thursday that defenseman Axel Rindell and forward Mattias Tedenby will not return for the next season.

Sportchef Johan Hult said the decision on Rindell came after discussions about the team's overall construction.

"Axel was an important defenseman for us last season, but we need to look at the whole picture in our team building for next season and there we do not see Axel," Hult told the club's website.

Hult also praised Tedenby, who played more than 600 games for the Jönköping club.

"It is hard to describe what Mattias has meant for HV71 and hockey in Jönköping," Hult said. "Not only through all the show he delivered on the ice, but also what a fine person and ambassador he has been for the club."
