Indonesia national team defender Jay Idzes was named Men's Player of the Year at the PSSI Awards 2026 and dedicated it to behind-the-scenes workers. He won after defeating Yakob Sayuri, Kevin Diks, Rizky Ridho, and Calvin Verdonk in voting from January to March 2026. The event took place at Studio 6 Emtek in Jakarta on Saturday night (28/3/2026).
Jay Idzes, Indonesia national team defender playing for Sassuolo in Italy's Serie A, received the Men's Player of the Year award at the PSSI Awards 2026. He defeated four other nominees in voting held from January to March 2026.
After the event at Studio 6 Emtek in Jakarta on Saturday night (28/3/2026), Jay stated the award was not his alone. "This award is for everyone working behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly," he said.
Jay praised PSSI for organizing the awards as a tribute to Indonesian football figures. He also highlighted the Legend of the Year award given to Tan Liong Houw. "This tells a lot about our heritage as a nation," Jay said.
The PSSI Awards 2026 also named Rizky Ridho as the best goal scorer.
