Jokerit has added three players with experience from Swedish hockey to its roster for the upcoming season. The signings were announced Tuesday as the club prepares for its return to Finland's top league.
Jokerit presented Teemu Turunen, Matt Caito and Oliver Larsen on Tuesday. The moves come as the Helsinki club builds its team for the 2026/27 Liiga campaign after winning Mestis in each of the past two seasons.
Turunen, 30, ended his contract with Örebro by mutual agreement for personal reasons. The forward recorded seven goals and nine assists in 32 games during his lone SHL season and had previously played for Jokerit in the KHL.
Caito, a 32-year-old American defenseman, departed Leksand after six seasons following the team's relegation. He posted four goals and seven assists in 50 games last season. Danish defenseman Oliver Larsen contributed 12 points in 50 games with HIFK in Liiga and has prior Swedish experience with Leksand, Pantern, Björklöven and Oskarshamn.
