Mato Grosso Civil Police arrested a 29-year-old judo instructor suspected of sexually abusing students aged 12 to 18. The arrest took place in Primavera do Leste following reports from seven victims across various municipalities. Investigations uncover abuses during competition travel.

On Wednesday, February 4, Mato Grosso Civil Police arrested a 29-year-old judo instructor in Primavera do Leste. The man is suspected of sexual abuses against students aged 12 to 18. So far, five reports have been filed in the municipalities of Rondonópolis, Campo Verde, and Primavera do Leste, involving a total of seven victims.

The investigations began when the mother of one of the youths approached the Specialized Women's Defense Police Station in Rondonópolis to file a complaint. The boy, who has practiced judo since age 10 and participates in championships, reported suffering abuses from the instructor during travel for competitions. The suspect also taught jiu-jitsu and exploited his technical position to commit the acts.

According to Delegate Eric Martins, in charge of the case: “As he had easy access to the victims due to his job, we believe more people may have been victims of this abuser”.

Victim and family testimonies describe the man caressing the faces and intimate parts of the students, mainly in lodgings during state travel. After the arrest, the suspect was taken to the Primavera do Leste police station and remains at the disposal of the Justice.
