In the 33rd round of the Brazilian Championship, Juventude defeated Vasco 3-1 at São Januário on Saturday (8/11). The Gaucho team turned the score around in the first half and secured the win with a goal in added time of the second. With the result, Juventude has 32 points and continues fighting to escape the relegation zone.
The match started with Vasco pressing at home. Early on, Lucas Píton crossed from the left and Rayan headed in to open the scoring: 1-0 for the Cruzmaltino. However, Juventude reacted quickly. At the 38th minute, after a cross from Gabriel Taliari, Hermes finished first-time to equalize. Soon after, at the end of the first half, goalkeeper Léo Jardim erred on the ball out, Jadson recovered and Nenê dribbled Hugo Moura to turn it around: 2-1.
In the second half return, Vasco tried for the equalizer with many crosses but without success. Juventude exploited counterattacks. At the 45th minute of the second half, Giovanny passed to Ewerthon, who finished into the empty net to seal the 3-1 victory. The Vasco fans booed the players at halftime and after the final whistle.
With the result, Juventude, in 18th place with 32 points, is two behind Vitória, the first team out of the relegation zone. Vasco, in 10th with 42 points, could be overtaken by Corinthians by the end of the round. The Jaconero returns to the field on November 20, hosting Cruzeiro at Alfredo Jaconi at 4 PM, for the 34th round. Vasco visits Grêmio on the 19th, at 9:30 PM.
