Kadokawa, parent company of FromSoftware, revealed in its latest financial report that a DLC expansion for the spin-off Elden Ring Nightreign is slated for release by the end of March 2026. The announcement underscores the game's success, which has exceeded initial expectations. Additional projects, including ports and new titles, are also in development.
In a recent financial disclosure, Kadokawa highlighted ongoing support for FromSoftware's popular titles, particularly the Elden Ring franchise. The company stated that Elden Ring Nightreign, a spin-off from the original 2022 action-RPG, has performed "well beyond initial expectations." As a result, they are "aiming for further sales growth for Elden Ring Nightreign, original Elden Ring, and its DLC."
Development Pipeline
Kadokawa outlined several projects in the works. The Elden Ring Nightreign DLC is planned for fiscal year 2025, ending March 31, 2026. This follows the spin-off's strong market reception. Additionally, the Elden Ring Tarnished Edition—a port of the original game—is targeted for 2026 on the Nintendo Switch 2. Another title, The Duskbloods, is also scheduled for 2026.
Recent Delays
Last month, FromSoftware delayed the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the original Elden Ring to allow for "performance adjustments." In a statement, the developer apologized for the postponement but affirmed it is "wholeheartedly [working] toward release," now expected sometime in 2026 without a more specific window.
These announcements signal FromSoftware's continued investment in the Elden Ring universe, building on the original game's critical and commercial success.
