KARA member Heo Young Ji reveals seven-year stalking ordeal

KARA member Heo Young Ji disclosed during a television appearance that she endured stalking for seven years beginning in 2016. The idol described how the individual targeted her family as well as herself.

Heo Young Ji recounted the experience on a recent episode of MBN and SBS Plus’s I Met a Psychopath. She stated that the stalker followed her, visited the cafe operated by her family and obtained personal details including license plate numbers and relatives’ contact information.

The situation escalated when the stalker sent a letter declaring an intent to harm others jealous of an imagined relationship. Young Ji noted that her parents initially viewed the person as a supportive fan before the behavior turned threatening.

In 2020 she consulted a lawyer but found legal action difficult because no physical harm had occurred and relevant anti-stalking laws were not yet in place at the time.
