Arizona freshman Koa Peat was selected by the Phoenix Suns with the 30th pick in the 2026 NBA Draft on Tuesday night.
Peat's selection came after his draft stock declined amid questions about his shooting. The forward averaged 14.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game during Arizona's run to the Final Four.
Analysts noted that Peat could have earned around $5 million by returning to Arizona for another season. CBS Sports analyst Matt Norlander said Peat "cost himself millions and millions of dollars."
A source close to Peat indicated that his representation cost him significant earnings. Peat has said his focus ahead of his rookie season is improving his jump shot consistency.
