Kokoro marks ten years with Palimpsesto fashion show amid rain

Chilean brand Kokoro marked its tenth anniversary on May 7 with a fashion show called Palimpsesto, held despite the year's first heavy rain in Santiago.

The event brought together figures from fashion, culture and architecture, along with regular clients such as former undersecretary Paula Daza. The setup included heaters and a tent to cope with the weather, while an Instagram message invited guests to wear aquatic looks.

Founder Pola Morera explained that the name Palimpsesto reflects the brand’s history as accumulated layers of experience. “We do not want to start from zero or renew ourselves by forgetting the past. We want to densify, add layers to this story,” she said in a pre-event interview.

Kokoro began in 2016 using deadstock fabrics imported from Italy, New York and France. The firm runs its own workshops and offers free repairs to extend garment life. Future plans include internationalization scheduled for next year.
