Lewis Capaldi has discussed the influence of his friendships with Sam Fender and Grian Chatten on his creative process. The Scottish singer-songwriter said the pair motivated him to focus more on his songwriting. The comments came in a recent interview with Billboard.
Capaldi said Fender and Chatten, who live nearby in north London, talk about music as art and care deeply about their work. He added that this approach has pushed him to take more time in the studio and pay closer attention to his lyrics and sound. The three musicians refer to themselves as The Syndicate and have spent time together in Ireland last summer.
