Appearing on LCI on July 1 2026, Marine Le Pen rejected the suggestion by an RN deputy that she would act as tutrice to Jordan Bardella if he won the 2027 presidency.
Le Pen said she would not repeat the behaviour of her father Jean-Marie Le Pen. « When I became president of the FN, my father would have liked to remain so and was extremely present in the decisions I could take. I will not do the same to Jordan », she stated.
She added that the duo with Bardella discussed « almost daily » and praised their « complementarity ». Le Pen acknowledged that her successor had « less experience » but insisted she would leave him « his freedom ».
In the same interview she also addressed the appeal ruling scheduled for July 7 on her ineligibility. « Whatever happens, I will continue to fight for my ideas », she said, adding that she was « not afraid » of the verdict.
