Kristina Mladenovic and Guo Hanyu defeated Gabriela Dabrowski and Luisa Stefani 6-3, 7-5 to win the Wimbledon women’s doubles title on July 12. The victory marked Mladenovic’s seventh Grand Slam doubles crown and came after a long recovery from injury.
Mladenovic, 33, became emotional during the post-match ceremony as she thanked her brother and coach Luka Mladenovic for supporting her return to the sport.
She had been sidelined for seven months by a chronic foot injury that began in early 2025, causing her to miss the French Open for the first time since 2008. Her ranking had fallen sharply during the absence.
Mladenovic also credited her partner Guo, who captured her first major title in her debut Grand Slam final. The French player said she had asked Guo to team up at the start of the season despite having no ranking at the time.
The win is expected to lift Mladenovic to world No. 13 and Guo to a career-high No. 9 in the WTA doubles rankings.
