MSMEDA signs agreement with Outreach Egypt for entrepreneur support

The Medium, Small, and Micro Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) has signed a cooperation agreement with Outreach Egypt, implementer of the Netherlands-backed Orange Corners Egypt initiative. The partnership seeks to provide integrated non-financial support services to entrepreneurs and boost Egypt's economic competitiveness. The signing took place at the Dutch Embassy in Cairo.

Bassel Rahmy, CEO of MSMEDA, and Heba El-Refai, General Manager of Outreach Egypt, signed the agreement in the presence of Peter Mollema. Senior officials from both organizations attended the ceremony at the Dutch Embassy in Cairo.

Rahmy stated that the agreement reflects MSMEDA’s commitment to advancing Egypt’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and supporting government efforts to empower small and medium-sized enterprises, in coordination with international partners. He noted that the partnership with Outreach Egypt integrates local efforts with international expertise through the Orange Corners programme, which offers advisory support to hundreds of entrepreneurs focusing on innovative and sustainable models. This aligns with directives from Mostafa Madbouly, who chairs MSMEDA, to prioritize non-financial services.

Ambassador Mollema described Orange Corners as a flagship Dutch initiative driving inclusive economic development. He highlighted that more than 50% of supported entrepreneurs are women, with emphasis on underserved areas like Upper Egypt and the Nile Delta.

Dalia El Nazer, Programme Manager of Orange Corners Egypt, said the collaboration will enhance access to support systems, unlock sustainable growth pathways, and deliver impact in Upper Egypt and the Delta.
