The Corruption Eradication Commission arrested Muara Enim Regent Edison and nine others in a sting operation in South Sumatra.
The KPK detained five Muara Enim district officials including Edison and five private individuals. The operation marks the KPK's 12th sting operation of 2026. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said investigators seized hundreds of millions of rupiah in cash. Edison was arrested in South Sumatra and was scheduled to be taken to Jakarta on 9 June 2026. Five days earlier Edison had attended an anti-corruption event in Palembang with the KPK. The agency still has 1x24 hours to determine the legal status of the suspects.
