Neiva builds women's house for female empowerment and entrepreneurship

The Huila Governorship and Neiva Mayor's Office signed an agreement to build the Huila House of Arts and Crafts. This space aims to strengthen women's economic autonomy through training in arts and crafts. The project will be located in Neiva's Comuna 10 and benefit over 38,000 people.

Agreement for construction

The Huila Governorship and Neiva Mayor's Office signed Interadministrative Agreement No. 74 of 2025 to advance the construction of the Huila House of Arts and Crafts. The project, led by Mayor Ing. Germán Casagua Bonilla and Governor Dr. Rodrigo Villalba Mosquera, focuses on the economic empowerment of Huila women.

Location and benefits

The space will be located in Comuna 10, Siglo XXI neighborhood, east of Neiva. It is estimated to benefit over 38,000 people, including women, people with disabilities, LGBTIQ+ community members, and the general population. It will offer advisory services, accompaniment, training, and education in productive and artistic areas to boost entrepreneurship and social inclusion.

Funding and contributions

The Governorship will allocate more than $3.500 million for topographic studies, soil analysis, architectural, structural, electrical, and hydrosanitary designs, as well as urban licenses. The Mayor's Office will provide the land and assume sustainability and administration once delivered.
