Creative director Ed Boon has confirmed that NetherRealm Studios is developing another Mortal Kombat title. The statement follows recent reports suggesting the studio may instead be returning to the Injustice series.
Boon made the comments during a recent interview with Collider while promoting the upcoming Mortal Kombat 2 film. He said the studio has multiple projects underway across games and other media, with further announcements expected soon. Support for 2023's Mortal Kombat 1 ended about a year ago, and that game sold eight million units despite mixed critical reception. The confirmation comes after earlier reports based on a blurred Warner Bros. artist's resume that listed Injustice 3, though NetherRealm has not officially addressed those claims.
