Fans of large-format cinema have a holiday treat in store as two standout 2025 releases make a brief comeback. 'One Battle After Another,' directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and starring Leonardo DiCaprio as a washed-up revolutionary, and 'Sinners,' Ryan Coogler's vampire thriller featuring Michael B. Jordan as twins battling supernatural foes in the South, will reappear in IMAX 70mm theaters. This one-week return begins December 12, with select North American venues offering previews on December 11.
The films have already made waves at the box office. 'Sinners' opened to $48 million in April and has grossed over $360 million worldwide, establishing itself as a breakout hit. 'One Battle After Another' debuted to $22 million in September and has surpassed $200 million globally. Both are positioned as strong contenders in the awards season, with Variety's senior awards editor Clayton Davis predicting nominations for best picture, best director, and lead actor for DiCaprio and Jordan.
