Rappers Open Mike Eagle and Kenny Segal have recorded their first full-length album together. Titled Doomed!, the project is set to release August 14 via Billy Woods’ Backwoodz label.
The longtime collaborators shared details of the album along with its first single, “Unfinished Concrete Initials,” which features Hemlock Ernst, also known as Future Islands’ Samuel T. Herring. Open Mike Eagle, based in Los Angeles, said in a statement that Kenny Segal wanted to create a full project rather than contribute isolated beats. He added that each of Segal’s beats served as a canvas for his impressions of a dead world. This marks Open Mike Eagle’s fourth consecutive year releasing an album. His most recent project, Neighborhood Gods Unlimited, came out last July. Segal’s latest release was the 2025 album The Night Green Side of It, a collaboration with R.A.P. Ferreira.
