Oromia Regional Youth and Sports Bureau has urged youth to further strengthen their role in efforts to ensure lasting peace. The Youth Advocacy Network was launched in Nekemte town. The network operates under the theme 'Reliable Peace for Nation Building'.
In Addis Ababa on Hidar 19, 2018 (Fana FM), the Oromia Regional Youth and Sports Bureau stated that it is working with various community sectors to stabilize comprehensive peace in the region. Bureau Head Kedir emphasized the major role of youth, saying that ensuring peace requires their active participation.
Kedir noted that efforts are focused on engaging youth in peace-building activities. He added that securing peace will enhance job opportunities for youth, including in corridor development, as they are currently beneficiaries in various government development agencies.
Youth who participated in the advocacy network expressed that ensuring comprehensive peace in their areas holds high value. They affirmed their commitment to collaborate with the government and relevant stakeholders to sustainably protect the peace that has been achieved.
